About London
Fast moving, diversely populated and excitement filled, London
is much more than just a capital city. Rather than being a single
city with one individual culture, London is made up of a multitude
of individual towns, villages and boroughs, each with their own
individual history and character. This makes London a city that
can be explored for years with a new discoveries every day.
London is divided into 31 individual boroughs, plus the two cities
of Westminster and the City of London. To further add to the confusion,
some of the smaller areas have been merged into larger towns and
boroughs. In many the locals still use the old names making it very
confusing for new residents to navigate.
London has an underground railway system efficiently transporting
both residents and visitors throughout the city. This makes the
tube map an indispensable guide to finding your way around London.
More Than Just A Rat Race
London is the UK's centre of business and finance, but it also
contains a large portion of the country's heritage. Aside from Buckingham
Palace and the Houses of Parliament, London is the front line for
the best in entertainments, fashion and truly is the centre of British
culture.
It is difficult to walk through any part of London without passing
a historical building, monument or a place of interest, and as it
is the centre of trade for most business, it is a place laden with
opportunity for anyone who wishes to progress in their career.
